The Challenge

D1 Oils were condensing two major sites to develop one large London based head quarters. They needed support to smoothly relocate all staff and systems and ensure that they found appropriate office space to establish the new headquarters.

The Strategy

SilverBug firstly supported D1 in assessing their new office space, sending out one of our engineers to ensure that potential venues were suitable to rehouse the IT infrastructure. We moved all the network devices and set up core services ready for the switch over, providing monitoring to ensure continuity. We installed all PCs and equipment and prepared the roll-outs ready for the users.

The Solution and Results

The office move went smoothly, and staff were able to seamlessly use their systems and equipment in the new headquarters. SilverBug continues to provide D1 with support as before, in their new location. The core network is monitored 24/7 and supported by the Service Desk.

D1 Oils plc is a biofuels technology company. Their strategy is to develop new energy crops into sustainable commercial fuels. They provide technology and services for the breeding, development, planting and harvesting of new varieties of commercial biofuel crops, focusing on alternative, sustainable feedstocks that are not subject to the same price pressures as food-grade crops. They have an established plant science and planting programme for Jatropha curcas, a robust, tropical oilseed bearing tree. Jatropha produces inedible oil feedstock for biodiesel and is able to make use of land not suitable for arable agriculture.
