Virtualisation

By taking advantage of virtualisation businesses can generate savings in many different ways from power costs to physical space. Our engineers are experienced and qualified in both VMware and Microsoft virtualisation technologies ensuring that when you look to implement a solution you truly get the best for your business.

With a new technology like virtualisation many business understand that there are potential benefits to be gained but don’t know if it is either practical or cost effective to pursue. Our experts can help you to decide if virtualisation is the right solution for you. We can then offer more thorough inspection services that look at your full-scale capabilities, and carry out a capacity planning exercise that maximises the potential virtualisation of your servers.

Some of the solutions we offer within virtualisation include:

  • Increase average server utilisation from between 5-15% to 60-80%
  • The creation of mirror images of vital system components
  • Redistribution of server workloads to improve efficiency
  • Reorganisation of data to a point that enables the powering down of servers during periods of low usage.
  • Application reboot times of around 30 seconds
  • Separation of applications within a single server to prevent disruption during reboots
  • Reduce on average between 10-20 to 1 server consolidation ratios

Armed with extensive experience and qualifications our engineers can guarantee that should you look to implement or improve your virtualisation platform the intelligence we provide will help move your business forward and generate success.

Desktop Virtualisation

Being able to reduce costs while still maintaining a high level of service is advantageous for any business and with desktop virtualisation it’s easy to implement.

At a simple level desktop virtualisation works by separating the desktop environment i.e. what the user sees on screen including all programs and data from the physical machine, typically either a desktop PC or server.

This virtual environment is then run from a central server with users able to access it providing they have an internet connection and a machine powerful enough to run the login program.

Importantly the processing power needed to run this program can often be well under that of the desktop contained in the virtual environment. This enables businesses to run powerful programs on basic PCs, thus saving costs on hardware without service being damaged.

As your outsourcing partner we can help you with every element of the virtualisation process from consultancy and procurement, through to installation and day to day maintenance.
